Nathan and I both moved to Eagle Mountain Utah in April 2012. In the beginning of June I was called as a Home Evening group leader for my ward. Nathan showed up the first week, and he didn't have a HE group yet so I invited him into mine. I didn't think much of it, except he seemed fun and I wanted to get to know him better. Well, I got everyone's number so the next week I could text them all about the activity. I got a text back after that activity from Nathan. It said "Thanks for inviting me to the activity, but it ruined my plan of asking for your number" I responded back with "What do you mean?" And he chickened out and sent the response "Oh, that was for someone else" So I spent the next few weeks trying to talk to him, but giving him space because I thought he liked someone else. There was also a fire evacuation, and he got evacuated. He shot me a text that basically said to let him know if I got evacuated and that he'd come help.
Well, then he would randomly sent me a text here and there over the next few weeks. I was completely clueless he was even interested in me.
On HE we went on a hike, and he ended up walking back with me, and one other guy. I found out later Nathan was upset that the other guy Evan was there, that he really wanted to talk to me alone. I went to go talk to Nathan, but he was away from the cars on the phone.
